5 cymbals, 15 snares, 8 basses, and 5 tenors (that i could see, tho i’d assume if they keep the normal 1 tenor 2 snare, there should be 2 more out of site on the far left) so a total drumline of 32 people, and they were THAT clean. kudos, that is awesome.

Way better than the braves line. If you’d even call it a line. More like a ghetto group.

@EaglesWing12 I played in the dome twice last year with VT’s drumline. It wasn’t that bad, but whatever
EaglesWing12
28. May, 2011
@drums12lax The dome is weird to play in. The sound kinda gets sucked out towards the ceiling, not to mention tens of thousands of fans are also pretty loud to play over.

15 snares need scoops? I would hope that many snares could make enough sound without scoops to fill up that dome.

@kingbiggysmalls Yes! Tryouts next Saturday. I believe they’re at Georgia Tech, probably at the Couch Building (could be lying…).

@WGIChamp there actually are no rehearsals. So I’d say its pretty good for a bunch of guys only like 5 of which who march that just show up and drum the day of the games. Check it out facebook. Good stuff man. And btw, WGI is boss.
kingbiggysmalls
28. May, 2011
@jazzycat1 there’s actually no practices. Check it out on facebook all the info is on there. If you’re in the area come tryout.

29. May, 2011
@somesnaredude its a bunch of drummers from around the Atlanta area. Another interesting fact, there are few or no practices. There are auditions but other than that, everyone just learns their stuff and comes together to play the day of the game.

Yeah, but that’s for the future. These cures don’t exist yet and may not for another 10-20 years. Assistive technology is needed until that day comes.

well, That is very much not so useful atm, knowing that new technologies and studies in medical science now have cure for the disabled, stem cells from the nose are removed and put into the spinal cord, and then these stem cells turn into nerve cells, without that person loosing his sense of smell, over time that person fully recovers..ironically, no body know why it happens, and why the nose. this tongue thing would only be a temporary solution or a solution for who ever cant afford,gd though

This is simple solutions for mass production… to increase efficiency, you can use direct nerve linkages to the brain and PNS

I’d still prefer the mind control - I tried moving my tongue as I watched this, especially when he talked about the letter per tooth interface - its quite diffcult remembering which tooth does what xD

29. May, 2011
What they need to do is try to find a mass market for a product like this then the interface will get a lot better much quicker

this is good, they have a device for people who are paralysed but requires surgical implants in the brain for thought control, but this sounds like it’s cost effective

Wow! So simple, yet so very useful with great potential. It’s surprising that with all of our technology, this idea wasn’t put into practice before now. It will be interesting to see how this technology progresses. But, however far it goes, it is hopefully only an accessibility appliance to help along the way to an eventual advancement in medical technology that will allow for the repair of spinal cord damage.
